Dia de los Muertos
All Saints Sunday, November 3 - Plaza
Join us Sunday, November 3, 2019, as we celebrate the lively Latin American custom of Dia de los Muertos —the Day of the Dead—a holiday celebrating the lives of the deceased with food, drink, parties, and activities the dead enjoyed in life. Dia de los Muertos recognizes death as a natural part of the human experience, a continuum with birth, childhood, and growing up to become a contributing member of the community. On Dia de los Muertos, the dead are also a part of the community, awakened from their eternal sleep to share celebrations with their loved ones.
Beatitudes Church will be arranging tables along the outdoor plaza for families to create a shrine for their departed loved ones. Portraits of departed loved ones with stand to display upright, along with any memorabilia that captures the loved one's life are encouraged. To reserve a 2.5 ft space on one of the tables, please complete the reservation form by clicking on the button below. For those who wish only to display a portrait (with upright stand for display), a community table will be available and no reservation is needed.
