A Plan for Our Future
Members and friends of Church of the Beatitudes spent five months working within the framework of Appreciative Inquiry, where we celebrated our past, defined our strengths and visioned our future. The result of this intensive experience solidified the Church’s leadership status as a church that embodies progressive Christianity, robust worship and spiritual growth, extravagant welcome, service and outreach to our local and global communities, the arts and inclusivity.
With the visions and action steps defined by the congregation during the Appreciative Inquiry process, we developed A Plan for Our Future – a five-year roadmap for the congregation, leaders, staff, members, guests, partners and all other stakeholders who support and uphold the Church’s mission.
The plan establishes a framework for achieving four strategic goals, through objectives, metrics and within a realistic timeframe.
- Grow the Church in membership, attendance and programs.
- Grow the Church’s revenue and decrease the amount transferred from the Pulliam Endowment.
- Grow the Church’s service and outreach with the local and global community.
- Transform our physical buildings and space to support these goals.
The people who are Church of the Beatitudes – our members, friends, partners and staff – have always embraced a bold future. The “Plan for our Future” is a bold plan.
The future of this Church does not rest with one individual, or a group of individuals or an environment that we can’t control. The future of this Church is the responsibility of all of us – from the children to the young families to the homebound, from the pastors and staff to our volunteers, from the Church leadership to our partners.
We will celebrate success. We will pray for strength and courage. We will love one another and work in partnership. We will sing and praise God. We do this, because we are listening to the Still Speaking God.
